Google Arts and Culture

Looking for an art-history related game or just a fun activity? Google Arts and Culture can help. You can download the app onto a phone or iPad or simply look it up in the browser of your choice.

Above is the home page once you open Google Arts and Culture. There are art and architecture related articles you can read to keep up with the latest news. When you click the "Explore" button at the top, you can use MANY features including but not limited to 360 degrees videos to explore places, street view, and specific movements and artists to explore.

If you scroll down on the home page, you will find a few games. I have played all of these. They are really fun and can be modified to your level of knowledge. Because the home page changes daily, some days the games might not appear there. You can also find them under the "Explore" tab. The first window will say "Google Arts and Culture Experiments". If you click here, the games should appear.

Here I have done a puzzle (the first game option). It was not too difficult and you can invite and play with others with the person+ icon on the far right. You are given the option of three difficulty levels. This game was very fun and there are many pieces to chose from.

The next game option is a bit more difficult. It is called What Came First?. Two icons will pop up beside one another. The player has to choose which one came first in history. The faster they answer the more points. This game is fast-paced, fun, and very interactive.

The third option is a play on crossword puzzles. The player uses the pictures at the bottom to complete the clues for the puzzle. Once they have done it, they move on to the next level. I really enjoyed this game, but it might take a few tries.
The last game is like an online coloring book. The first image is of the original artwork. The second is the one I colored. First choose one of the many artworks to color. The player is then given a color palette at the bottom and the blank work with outlines. This was super fun!!!

Not a fan of online activities? You can do coloring and a few more on paper!!! Select the Print the Coloring Book button. You can print it for yourself!

These are just a few of the functions on this AMAZING website. Please go and explore. I promise you will learn something new! Click HERE to get started. Comment below if you try it out!
